The ice maker doesn't dispense. It makes ice just fine. When you hit the arm, the yoke engages and opens the flap in the door, but there is a low hum and the auger doesn't turn so the "screw arm" inside the ice bucket doesn't rotate and push ice forward.
I suspect it's the auger motor. Is there a way I can test to be sure before ordering a replacement? Is there anything else I should check?
Thx!

Answer Steve,
Check to make sure that you do not have ice caught under the auger in the ice bin which would cause the unit to not dispense and just hum. You can test for voltage at the auger motor. There should be 120 vac coming to the motor when calling for ice. You can also take bin out and push light switch and push dispenser for ice and see if the motor tries to turn. If the motor turns then also check the coupler on the motor to make sure that it is not stripped out.
Water comes out of spout very slowly, ice doesn't form in solid cubes. I can hear valve running. Maybe it's just not strong enough?

Answer Hello Carl,
Check the water shut off to insure it's on all the way. If it is, make sure the water line isn't crimped. If it's alright, change the water filter WF2CB. If this doesn't do it, the water inlet valve 242252702 is the issue.
when crushing ice, the unit jumps off the track and this causes the freezer door to pop open. what causes this and can I replace a part only because everything else works.

Answer Julie, Several things to check, First remove the ice bin assembly , check the bin 218216900 for cracks or broken areas, especially on the back side, in the drive cam 218232300 area. While you have the bin out, check the divider wall 215309502 for cracks and breaks, and check that the anchors that hold it in place are not loose, broken or missing. And check that the drive yoke 241726501 is proper aligned and seated into the drive cam. Any defects in any of these components or areas, can cause the ice bin to move forward and push the freezer door open. Thanks and Good Luck
