Hello, I have Frigidaire electric range and was wondering if anyone has any idea what might be the solution to my problem. The surface works fine as well as the digital display. The problem is with the oven. There are metal coils on the bottom and top that usually glow red and heat the oven when in use, however they no longer work. No matter what setting I attempt to set, they just do not work. I am quite handy with household repairs, but would like some insight before I pull the oven out and take it apart. Thank you in advance!

My question is: After a pop, nothing was working on my oven (top burners worked)so I replaced the control board. Everything came on, clock, pre-heat and bake lights, and broiler element. But, the bake element did not work. So I replaced the element. Still did not work. Then took the probe to a Sears store and had it checked, and it was good. So I don't know what my next step should be.

When I try to use my oven the pre heat light and oven light both come one but the oven does not heat up at all. I cant see anything visually wrong with the heating element.. Could it be bad or something else??

Latest Questions

This is a continuation of my first question about the oven element not going off...so you're saying that the CLOCK is making the element (inside the oven) stay on? The clock and the timer and the degrees read-out work fine! The element in the oven will not go off...even if I hit the CLEAR/OFF button.

After 20 minutes of 350 baking, my oven element came on. It then burned my muffins. It will not go off until I turn off the entire range at the circuit breaker box/panel. The display where the clock/temp are displayed reads "F1". The manual suggests turning the range off and restarting it, which we have done. Doesn't help.

The EOC arcked open on our oven. The leads on the circuit board are completely burnt off. Prior to replacing the EOC I would like to know if a bad element could cause problem. I really don't want to plug in a new EOC and have it go up in a flash as soon as power is applied. I put an ohn meter across each disconnected element an got 13.6 ohms for the broiler element and 15.7 ohms for the baking element. I would like to know if these are the normal values before I proceed. Thanks!
