Breaker trips, one phase shows short circuit. Following leads for that phase led me to the cooktop lockout board: when input power is disconnected breaker no longer trips. Board input terminal shows zero resitance to ground when output is connectord or not, so I'm thinking the board is the culprit. Board part number is 316429301. Do you agree?

I've confirmed everything is working but I'm not getting current out of the cooktop control board for the particular burner. Bypassing the control board with current, it works so I've confirmed everything else to be working - i.e. switch, burner. The only thing I'm uncertain of is whether or not the relay on the cooktop control board for the simmer select element is supposed to default open (off), with all the others defaulting closed (on). I tested continuity on the new control board and all the other burner power circuits have continuity (on) except this one. Appears to me I've received a faulty board. Anyone have any intimate knowledge on this question?

I had the infamous simmer select pop happen. I've replaced the simmer board and the stove lockout board as both were a little charred. Now the simmer/power element won't heat and when I push the simmer button, the lights click on and off like a clock ticking slowly- tick-tick... tick-tick... tick-tick I took the red power wire off the adjacent burner switch and connected to the simmer/power burner switch and it heated right up. Burner and switch are obviously fine. But not enough juice coming through the simmer board (when simmer is off, OR on, apparently) to power the burner. I'm suspecting a bad replacement simmer board. Ever hear of this happening? Thanks, Roger

Kenmore Electric Range. Push STOP button to turn oven off, red light goes out, but oven stays on (don't notice until next morning). The first time it happened I couldn't get it to go off so I unplugged range that morning and plugged back in that evening. Oven stayed off and range worked fine for couple months. This morning I noticed it still on again from last evening. Couldn't get it to go off so unplugged. Will plug back in this evening to see if it works. What could cause this in an oven barely used and only a few years old?
