Frigidaire Refrigerator - the cover for the ice/water dispenser falls off once in awhile - the ribbon broke on one of these times. I replaced the ribbon and all was well. Then, the cover fell off again, pulling the end of the ribbon that goes to the board connected to the frig out. I started to plug it back in without thinking to unplug the frig. The control lites flashed and I didn't get the plug all the way in before I remembered I should have unplugged the frig. Now when I plug the ribbon in nothing works. If I flip the end of the ribbon that plugs into the board on the cover in upside down the icemaker runs continously but nothing else works. Right-side up - nothing works. What is my next step? Thanks

Answer Hello Mark, Based on the information, it appears that you may have damaged the harness. It is possible that the control is damaged but the harness would be the most likely cause.

Hi, I replaced my water paddle actuator on my fridge and the ribbon wire came out. I put it back and now the fridge ice motor won't stop throwing out ice. I checked the ribbon, had my engineer dad look at it and scratch his head and every time I put the ribbon back in the motor starts running again. It is a similar story as the one on your site "interesting story" page. I can't see anything wrong with the board control and no burn marks on the board. It is frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer Hello Matt, You may want to pull the dispenser assembly back off and check to make sure that the ice dispenser switch is not being depressed by a wire or the lever sitting in wrong or being hung up.

Frigidaire PLHS269ZDB2. I replaced water dispenser actuator, but while doing that, the ribbon cable was accidentally unplugged. I put everything back, turned on the power, the Ice dispenser auger runs non-stop. Here are the things I’ve tried: 1) Disconnect the wire on micro switch for ice dispenser, the auger still runs. 2) Re-connect the micro switch, disconnect the ribbon cable, ice auger stops. When power is on and Ice dispenser auger running, all the lights on control board (AP3963433) are on except the lock light. When I push any buttons on the control board, no response, no light will be off, they all stay on. If I push and hold the lock button, the red lock light will be on. With lock light on, I opened the freezer door, auger stops; closed door, auger still off; push and hold the lock button again, lock light off and auger runs non-stop again. Is this a problem with control board (AP3963433) or power board AP3965513? Or something else?

Answer Hello Mike. Check and make sure he solenoid inside the freezer is good. If so, you will need to replace the power board 241708102 and the control board 241708307. If the solenoid 241675701 is bad, you will need to change it as well. Hope this helps.

I recently changed my water acutator. I accidentally unplugged the Control board cable. After I plugged it back in the crushed ice bar runs continuously and the buttons don't dispense ice or water and the light stays on. Should I change out the Control Board AP3963433?

Answer Patrick, Re check the ribbon cable first. Make sure it is attached to both boards properly,and tightly, is not twisted , kinked or creased, before you replace the control board. Good Luck and Thanks.

Water dispencer shuts off intermitently, while in use. Resets when I open and close freezer door. Should I replace; Power Board, Control Board, Ribbon Harness or all three? What fixes this issue?

Answer Hi Keith. If the dispenser is physically shutting the water off intermittently then you will need to change the water filter part # WF2CB. If It Is turning off electrically, then change the control board part # is 241708307. Thank you.
