My refrigerator is not cool enough. The freezer is fine. We have done all of the normal troubleshooting. Refrig sensor was replaced. Fans are both working, coil are not frozen up, compressor is working, not dusty, damper between refrig & freezer opens & closes.... We have unplugged, let sit for a weeks, etc. Since we have plugged it back in, it keeps alarming that the door is ajar, even though it has not been touched. Seems to me that this is a problem with the control panel in the door. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks!
Answer Hello J&J,
I have found many cases where, even though the evaporator fan motor 241509402 in the back of the freezer compartment is running, if you stick your finger in it and stop it, it will not start back up without giving it a push. When it does this or spins slowly, replacing it corrects the issue. This is, of course, if the unit is establishing a good frost pattern on the evaporator coils.
My board says refrigerator 59 and my freezer says EF what should I do? All my stuff is getting warm and spoiled.
The EF error code is an indication that there is a failure with the evaporator fan. You will want to check the operation of the evaporator. If the fan is not running then you will want to check for 12vdc coming into the fan. If there is not voltage then the control board is faulty and would need to be replaced. If the fan is getting power then replace the fan motor.
