Door on affinity dryer has to be raised up to latch
Answer Marion, Hopefully your issue is a set of loose hinge screws and not a damaged door or front panel. You may need to remove the loading door " Removing the loading door: Note: To remove the two screws holding the hinge of the door to the front panel, use a small ratchet with a #2 square bit or a right angle Phillips screwdriver. Open the dryer door. 2. Remove the (2) screws that secure the hinge to the
front panel. NOTE: Remove the bottom screw first. Support the door assembly firmly before removing the top screw.3. Remove the door assembly by lifting and pulling outward from unit. 4. Place door assembly face down on a soft flat surface. Then you can check the panels, hinge and door for bent or distorted components, if all's straight and no distortion, you'll need to tighten all the screws and mounts, and re install the door to the front panel and hinge.
I removed the screws for part 20 - bracket hinge so I could remove the top and back panel so I could get to the belt to replace it. I can't figure out how to get the dang hinges to release? Anybody got a clue?
Answer Hi Robin. 1. The top panel is held in place in the front by (3) plastic tabs on the console (2) metal tabs, one on each side,.2. Remove the (2) screws, slide the top back about 1/2 inch and lift the top off. There are 2 release tabs that need to be pressed in from the sides to lift it off. They are on top of the sides and you use a putty knife to press in to release them. They may be approx. 3" in from the front side. Thank You.
