In the front of the frig there are like buttons you press to get the ice to come out of the machine. When we push the ice cube button nothing happens. The roller that turns the motor to bring the ice cubes and the crushed ice into the hole that puts it into your glass does not turn. There is no sound of the motor that must turn the coil. It does not move. Is that motor broken?

Answer Hi Phylis. Turn off the ice maker. Dump and /or save the cubes in a separate bowl. Look at the bin auger assy. to see if there is shards or build up of ice chips that are under the bin auger and stopping the turning. Tape the door switch shut. Now paddle the actuator to see if the auger motor works now. Part # 241676201. If it does, also select the crush solenoid part # 241675701 to see if it works when you activate the paddle. If it does not, then you need to use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1. See if the motor is getting 120 vac to it. If it does, then replace it along with the auger motor drive bar part # 241726501. Is the chute flapper part # 5304402125 opening ? You May need to also do a voltage check at the solenoid assy.part # 218740004 to See if the 120 vac is coming to the chute solenoid. Check the actuator paddle switch to see if it is opening or closing with your ohm meter. Closed will read 0-ohms or as close to 0-ohms you can get for closed, as long as it opens (infinite reading) when physically opened. Switch part # 5303917595. It needs to have 120 vac to the switch. You can also jump these 2- wires to See if the auger motor turns. Un plug it when you know it does and the switch is defective. If you do not get 120 vac then back up to the fountain control board and test the pc board output part # 218903501. Make sure the user interface board part # 218881801 will send the command to the control board. Use the supplied wiring diagram in the controls or the toe kick area to follow electrically. Look under the freezer door hinge and the door switch part 215334201 to see if the wires are intact perfectly tight and clean. Thank You.
