Hello, the clock on my frigidaire oven fgfb68csb, has been blinking off and back on as if there was a power failure once a day or so, now today the control/ clock is dead. I have power to the wall outlet , I'm guessing the control board is bad, I just hate to pay repair guy 150$ just to tell me the board needs to be changed. Thanks for the help. Chad

Some times the oven will explode - loud boom.- happened 3 time in 2 months. after the boom" the oven bakes ok. There was a faint gas odor oven is on for maybe 5 minutes before this happens. So what do you think causes this?

Answer Hello Dick. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Is the "clock" part the same as the EOC?

Answer Hello Marie, The clock is only called the clock because it has a clock made in it. The clock is actually the electronic control that controls the circuits inside the bake compartment. So, in response to your question, the clock is the same as the EOC, (electronic oven control).

My clock on the Frigidaire gas range keeps randomly turning off (blank screen). It will randomly turn back on with a buzz into blinking mode. Will replacing the clock fix this, or is there another place to look for the power problem?
