I have a Frigidaire Professional Series oven that I really like and has been working well. However, the other day I was baking a pie and about halfway through baking, I noticed it was burning. The oven had begun heating higher than the 350 I had set it on. The bottom element didn't appear to be on, but the top element would not shut off. Eventually, an F10 error code displayed with a persistent beep that could not be shut off until we unplugged the oven. I have talked with a local appliance repairman, and he is pretty certain it is the EOC, which is a $220 part. Is this what you would recommend, as well?

We were in the process of cooking dinner and the stove top as well as the oven were both on. We heard a loud buzzing sound, then a pop and smoke coming from the back of the stove. Everything went dead. I removed the top and found that the ribbon cable going to the front control buttons was completely burned in half. I removed the circuit boards from the housing and they both had burn marks on them, one of them almost all of way through the board. Is this a problem that just happens, or could something else have caused it? I don't want to change this out and have the same thing happen again. Also, does the front control pad come with the replacement?

I have installed the EOC that was sent. My oven now works. The new EOC has a zip-tie around the yellow part on the back. Should the zip-tie be kept on or removed?

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Series oven. Model number GLEFM397DSA. During/After preheat I get an F10 error. Tried unplugging for 10 minutes then plugging back in... same issue. I checked resistance on the temperature sensor. It apears to be correct at approx 1100 ohms. I checked resistance at pins 15 & 16 (where the wire inputs from the temperature sensor) on the EOC. It also reads between 1100-1200 ohms. Troubleshooting guide says it is likely the EOC. How can I be sure? Quite an expensive part to purchase and risk not being the issue.
