I've located the proper compressor replacement but have some questions. Does it come pre-charged with the proper PAG oil. If not, how much and what type of PAG oil should I add?

Latest Questions

Hello, I have a Kenmore Model 253.62244201. I was told by a representative of APP that the fridge is made by Fridgidaire, and the part number of the compressor is AP4499996. We purchased the fridge new in 2002, though about 2 years ago, we hired Sears because we suspected that the fridge was using too much electricity, based on a meter we were using for that purpose. It turns out that the fridge was consuming a normal amount of energy, but our meter was defective. In any case, the technician replaced the compressor as part of the process, so we have a compressor that is only about 2 years old. The fridge is not cooling properly. Conditions vary over time. Sometimes it is cooling, other times not at all. Freezer is defrosting and items within are thawing. Compressor is hot to the touch. Doesn't burn my skin, but is uncomfortable. I have run into several threads indicating there is a simple test with a multimeter that can be used to test the windings of the compressor. With the power unplugged, I have removed the plug on the side of the compressor, and three pins are visible as a result, in a triangular pattern, a single pin on top and two pins below it, side by side. How do I use a multimeter to test the compressor? What are the values of resistance that I should get and from which terminals? Thank you!

My freezer currently has an RF107-1 compressor. The compressor kit that is recommended for replacement contains an oil cooler. My freezer does not currently seem to have an oil cooler. What is recomended that I do with the oil cooler? Leave it off? Mount it where? Thanks.
