When installing a new condenser does it have to be soldiered or brazed in. And when removing the condenser does it have to be desoldered.

Answer Hello Dwain. Yes the condenser tubing is soldered in place, and when installing the new one it will also require soldering. There are a number of other things that have to be done to successfully do this. The sealed system will have to be evacuated/vacumned, a processing valve will have to be installed and then the unit recharged, with the proper amount of freon. Gauges will also need to come into play in order to make sure pressures are correct, during and after recharging. There is quite a bit of work involved in this repair. Hopefully you have some sealed system experience or maybe know someone who does.
