I have a Frigidaire fes388wgcc electric range/oven. The left top front burner only works for the outer element, the inner element does not work. The right top front burner only works for the inner element not the outer. Not sure which part I need to replace. Is it the element or the switch? Please let me know the part number as well. Thank you.

Answer Hello John,
You would want to check the elements to see if they have a burn mark in them. It does sound like an element issue but you should always double check. You can use a flashlight and look to see if you see any dark spots on the element by shining light on them. If the elements are burnt they would need to be replaced. It looks like both elements are part number 316049706.
The right front burner, (dual) will not heat up. Is it the switch that has failed?

Answer Hello Michael,
This can be the switch 316239500 or the surface element 316418400. The surface elements, when they fail, are usually obvious when removed and inspected as the part of the element that burns out is easily seen. You can also test for 240Vac at the element. If the 240Vac is at the element, the element has failed. If the voltage isn't there, the switch has failed.
