Hello. I recently installed a new temperature control in my Kenmore freezer because the compressor was running constantly. Even with the control turned almost all the way down the inside temp of the freezer was -20 degrees. After installing the new temperature control the compressor shut off temporarily but now its running all the time again just like before and the temperature is still around -20 degrees. Any ideas? Thanks, Brian

Hello, my Kenmore Elite Upright freezer cools to -10 to -20 degrees, regardless of where I set the temp control. It runs almost all the time, but does cycle off sometimes. I am considering replacing the temp control, part number 216844500. What do you think I should do?

My Kenmore Elite upright freezer does not seem to respond to the temperature control setting. It cools to -15 to -20 degrees no matter where I set the control. I have set it at 4, and the unit cools to -15 degrees. It seems to run all the time. I am considering replacing the temp control, part number 216844500. Do you think this is the right thing to do?

My freezer sat in storage for almost 4 years. When I took it out and plugged it in, it would not cool. You can hear the condenser running. Research indicated the defrost thermostat needed to be replaced. I replaced it, but it still does not cool. What are the other likely causes?
