Hello, I have a Frigidaire chest freezer Mod. # MFC13M4FW3. I have determined that the 216649301 controller on the compressor is bad. Another part number for it seems to be AP2113677 (found online). This particular controller is no longer being manufactured and I cannot get the part! While searching for the part, I noticed that there are several other controllers that look physically identical. I haven't checked their availability, but most of them seem to be for refrigerators, not freezers. Will one of these other controllers work in place of the 216649301 controller? If so, which would be the best to use? My otherwise perfect freezer is dead without a controller ...help! Thanks, Billy

Latest Questions

I have a Frigidaire upright freezer. Been off for 2 or 3 months. Turned it on and it ran for a few seconds then shut off. Unplug and plug back in it does the same. Looked in back and noticed the controller (216649301) was melted a bit on the bottom and smelled burnt. Is this my problem or did another part cause this on to go bad?

This is an old Frigidaire upright freezer that has started to run continuously. It keeps the temperature below zero, but doesn't shut off. Would this be something I could repair myself ? The The door seal seems to be good yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Control assembly is burned badly. Is the compressor the only possible problem or could it have been damaged by lighting? How can I check the compressor with an ohmeter?
