Answer Dan, The part that is in the upper left corner of the refrigerator section would be the damper assembly 241600902. When the damper assembly is going bad it will cause a ratcheting type noise. You will want to replace the part.

Answer Damper, Yes, check the defrost cycle and operation. Also check and make sure both doors are closing and sealing, and the dispenser ice door is closing and sealing as well. If all checks OK, suspect the ADC board 5303918476. Also you'll need to check the damper assembly for ice, water or moisture and corrosion on the connectors and motor, causing the damper to ice up and freeze.

Answer Hello Bobby, The first thing that you want to check is to make sure that you did not put the wrong thermostat into the wrong place. Also check to make sure that the damper is opening and closing when you turn it off and on. Also make sure that you installed the wiring properly. If these check ok then you would want to replace the refrigerator temp control 241586503.
