I am having issues with the coils freezing completely solid. I first noticed that the fan wasnt turning so I replaced it. The fan didnt work so I replaced the control board as well. Replacing the board fixed the fan issue and I assumed all was well. I have since replaced the thermostat and heater element but to no avail. Coils still freeze up solid after about a week. Any suggestions on what other element may be bad? I think I have replaced every item involved in the defrost procedure. Thanks for your time.
Answer Kyle, You have replaced the defrost system, basically. You most likely have a loose connection or broken wire in the harness. At the ADC board, check for 120 VAC across E4 and E6 terminals, and E4 to E2 terminals when the refrigerator is cooling. When you force test the defrost cycle, you should have 120 VAC across the E4 and E1 terminals. You also need to check E4 to E3 terminals for no voltage when the ADC board is in the defrost mode. If the voltages are correct, then the issue would be in the wiring harness to the defrost components.
my freezer keeps building up ice and leaking water out door is it the water valve inlet or defrost heater also ice maker is making cubes smaller and slower than before please help.
Answer Hello John,
If there is no water running down the back wall then the issue is most likely a clogged drain. You will need to remove the rear cover of the freezer section and clean out all the ice in the drain through. You will then use hot water to run through drain to clear clog. On the icemaker issue if the water filter has not been changed within last six months then you should try to replace the filter.
