Washer fails to start high speed spin and reports error code E58 (high amperage on motor). Tech sheet indicates "Test 8" should be performed to diagnose E58. Per Test 8 - Readings on motor pins as follows: Pins 1-2: 4.6 ohms, Pins 2-3: 3.8 ohms, Pins 1-3: 3.1 ohms, Pins 4-5: 121 ohms. All motor winding readings fall within the OK range as specified on Tech Sheet. Motor appears to be good. So, I changed-out the motor control board in accordance with Tech Sheet instructions. No change with new motor controller. Still gives E58. Water comes in and pumps out fine. All other functions seem to work correctly - except high speed spin. Checked door switch. Pins from brown/orange switch component read 1234 ohms. Is this switch good? If so, what should I check next? Thanks!

While the washer is running, the door latch is clicking at about every 1/4 turn of the tub. Is this a sign of switch failure? Sounds like a loose wire, but havent found any yet.

Latest Questions

This morning I awoke to the locking mechanism making noise (consistent locking noise) and the washer was not on. I tried opening and closing the door and it persisted. I then just unplugged it and found this website. In addition it seems that my door hangs just a hair lower so that when you close the door it raises just a tad to enter into the locking position. My washer has been making the buzzing noise like the door is not closed for awhile. My question is this, do I replace the locking mechanism the prong section on the door that goes into the locking mechanism, or should I check something else? I did replace the glass in the door about a year ago with no issues.

I replaced the door lock/switch and still have the door open error. Also the striker is not loose or cracked. What do I need to check now? If control board (or motherboard) how would I check it?

I have the door open error code, but can hear the door lock when I try to start. Also the striker looks fine, no cracks not loose. What else could be wrong? If board how would I check before ordering.
