Answer Hello Bob. If there is power to the pump, and the hoses are not clogged and the unit runs. You will need to order and replace the drain pump 5304475805 on the unit.

The water does not pump out of the tub on any cycle. Is there a way to test the pump separate from the control panel? Is it line voltage 120V? I don't think it's an issue with the timer control, but I just want to be sure it's the pump before purchasing. Second question: the handle which engages the micro switch when the door is shut is not compressing the switch contact to activate the control timer. Is it possible the handle has become distorted, or has the switch moved enough to not allow the handle to make contact? Is there any adjustment in the door handle assy to correct this issue? Answer Don, Yes, the drain pump motor will operate on 120 VAC. you can use a 120 vac test cord, and attach the clips and ground wire to the motor terminals and plug the cord into a stsandard 120 VAC outlet, and the motor should run. You're also going to need to look inside the pump, and use a tool, to check the impeller vanes, they could be damaged, and the motor may run, but can't move the water, because the vanes are "shot". The door latch/switch assembly, has no adjustments, chancwes are one of the retainer pins holding the door switch to the assembly is distorted or broken and the assembly will have to be replaced.

I have a Frigidare dishwasher model fphd2491kf0. We had an intermittent draining problem which appeared to have fixed itself, but now as soon as the wash/spray starts running the unit pumps all the water out. I know it isn't from siphoning, the water appears to be pumping out. This happens on all wash cycle settings. The water will spray until it pumps out, about 30 seconds. Is it possible that the drain pump is faulty? Thanks in advance. Nigel

Answer Hello Nigel, This sounds more like a stuck relay on the control 5304475569. If the drain pump were defective it would never drain the water.

The dishwasher runs great through any of the wash/rinse cycles. However it does not completely empty on any of the cycles and it leaves the water level, just above the screen filter. BUT...in any cycle, by advancing the the timer to the "Pump Out" area of the timer and letting it run it's course, it will pump out more water. Doing this 3 times will eventually empty all the water. It is like the timed pumping cycle is not long enough for the pump to do it's job. There are no obstructions in the punp line to the drain. The sink top has a drain vent. The drain line has it's proper loop on the right side of the dishwasher and the line runs correctly to the drain. (no garbage disposal) Could this be an inefficient pump problem? Perhaps a worn impeller or seals, where it is not pumping enough water volume in the time allowed in the selected cycle? I see that the replacement pump kit for this unit is: AP4510944 and it is in stock. Will this solve my problem? Thank You, John Munsch

Answer John, Before you replace the pump assembly, try this, disconnect the drain hose from the "drain vent" and drain the dishwasher into a bucket. If all's OK, the tub should empty in 60 seconds or less. If so, you will need to remove the drain vent cap and lift the interior cap off the housing and clear any obstructions in the pipe. If it still does not drain properly, Then replace the pump. Thanks

The pump runs good and it seems to have no blockage anywhere but will not pump water from the dishwasher. It does run in drain cycle but won't pump hardly any water. Sometimes none! Could it be something other than blockage?

Answer Hello Dino, The issue can be a separated pump impeller. You see, the pump motor shaft is stainless steel, but the impeller is plastic. It can be spinning freely on the end of the motor pulley, in which case it would be unable to move any water.
