I am replacing my left-front 6"/9" element in my ceramic-top Frigidaire range and need to know how to access the burner. My model no. is CGEF3055KBA.
Answer Hello Bob. Remove the screws under the cooktop front by opening the door. Next lift the top upward to access and replace the elements. Make sure power is disconnected from the unit.
We just ordered and replaced the front left heating element with part #15D AP2124690. The element looked different in that the heating rod was short and did not go across the whole unit. After we reattached everything and tried it out only the center part of element is heating, not the outer ring. did we do something wrong, or is there an issue with our ranges wiring?? I've been speaking with a member of the chat team who suggested we ask you.
Here is the proper way to make sure that you have the unit wired properly. This will require tracing the wires from the element to the component. Here is how the unit is supposed to be wired. 1A is the limiter which is already connected with the jumper wire to the element. 2a is an orange wire with a 5 on it that will go to the H1 on the infinite switch. The purple/white wire will go to the outer terminal on the element. The other orange 5 will go to the inner terminal on the element and goes back to the H2 connector on the infinite switch. The 2b terminal would be orange 8 and goes to the hot surface indicator. The 1b double black 4 goes between the elements. If this checks ok then the issue would be the infinite switch.
