Answer Hello Brian. Both the upper element 5303051140 and the lower should read closed for continuity and show an ohm resistance. You will need to test the elements for continuity. If closed, they are good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Answer Hello Donna. To replace this element you should not have to remove the back of the stove. You should be able to unscrew the retainer plate from the back of the oven and slide the old element out and plug the new one in. I hope this info helps!
