Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
1. What does the 'check ball' do? 2. Dishwasher not completely draining, left a gallon in bottom, is that the drain pump malfunction?
3. What is the part number for that drain pump?
Answer Hi Greg. 1. The check ball part # 154791501 keeps the water in circulation in the wash cycle for proper circulation. Then in drain it will bypass the blocked hole and allows for proper drain. 2. Check the hose at the sink connection. Use a bucket to put the sink end of the drain hose into it and then if water drains out into the bucket, Check the sink connection with a screwdriver to see if it is clogged there. Look at the drain hose end to see if it is clogged there. Use dishwasher magic part # TJ104 monthly to keep the wash performance up to par. You need to have the drain hose looped and strapped as far up under the sink to create a p-trap so the sink waste water does not back up into the dishwasher. Remove the drain hose at the pump and make sure the pump impeller is clear and not spinning loose on the pump shaft. Remove the pump intake hose and insure it is clear also. 3. Pump Part # 154757901. Thank You.
