Dishwasher runs but does not fill with water. No water coming out. Unhooked the water inlet valve and checked the water pressure coming in and that's good. Checked the hose going up into the dishwasher, that's good. Checked the float and float switch they seem to be fine. Replaced the water inlet valve just in case, and still nothing. Any suggestions?

My dishwasher wont fill any water at all. Initially there was water settling at the bottom about 1" high and thought that the water valve was not working okay. So I replaced it with a new one and now the washer can fill/flow any water!! I have checked the inlet water supply and it is getting water to the inlet of the valve. What could be the problem? I'm ready to junk it! Thanks.

A piece of a broken glass somehow got thru and jammed the pump (that pumps water out). I took the DW apart, checked and cleaned everything and every part seems to work. The top arm is not spinning, however. I can see water going up and running out of the spout. From other Q&A on this site, deduced that it is not getting enough water. I manually add (perhaps 1/2 gallon) of water and the arm does move (how much I don't know). If it is not getting enough water, what controls or determines when the cycle should start. I assume there has to be a float switch to determine when the unit has enough water (or is this just a timed event?). The DW was in the house when we bought it and we always thought it takes a long time to run thru it's cycles. We timed it the other night and it takes nearly 3 hours to wash. Is that normal? Thanks in advance.

Water continues to pour from the bottom of my dishwasher even after replacing the splash guards, tub seal, and bottom door seal. I looked under the dishwasher while it ran, and noticed a drip coming from the bottom of the overfill protector. I've also noticed that the water tends to pour out during the filling of the tub. Could this be an indication that the overfill protector is not working, and is there an electrical factor involed in the function of the protector. Im wondering if this is a repair that I could do myself without electrocuting myself :) Thank you in advance.

My float broke from the stem. My question is...how does the a new float get installed? The stem on the old float - at the bottom has two protruding tiny pieces of plastic to hold it in place. What is used on the new float?

I am getting water building up under "what appears" to be the float. I'm not 100% certain, but when I feel the switch under the float, there's water dripping from it. It could be coming from somewhere else, but I'm not sure where. I have already replaced the tub gasket and that didn't solve it. I have pulled the float out and inspected it, and it looks to be operating as designed. What else could be causing water to leak there? Is it worth replacing the float? Tony
