Is the gasket easy to replace? If the gasket had maybe a 1/16 inch gap and was about 5 inches long, would that make stuff like milk and eggs freeze?
Answer Hello Scott,
This would make the compressor and fans run constantly as the cold air, being heavier, would constantly drop out of the unit and the warm air from the room would continually come in to take its' place. Depending on where the milk and eggs are sitting, yes, the cold air passing across them continuously could freeze them.
Is this for both doors?
Answer Hello P. Hicks. No, 218730605 is for the fresh food door. You will need to order 215608916 for the freezer. Hope this helps.
Will part #218730605 fit on any 18 cu. ft. refrigerator or just the one I have now?
Answer Hello Shari! It would depend on the make/model. It is suggested to replace the gasket called for the direct model. For the refrigerator door gasket use part number 218730605 and for the freezer door gasket use part number 215608916. Thanks!
