Is this difficult to install?
Ed for Model Number ples399ecc part # 318223647
Answer Ed,
To change the glass top you will need to pull unit out from installation and disconnect power to unit. Remove the screw on either side of the control panel and remove the 2 screws under the control panel in the opening of the door. Pull down the console and remove the screw on both sides of the console. To be able to flip over the control panel, remove the screws on both brackets located under the control panel at the front. The control panel can now be blipped to allow reach of the electronic components. Remove the four screws on the front on the burner box, there will be 2 on each side. Pull up the entire burner box and in order to reach the surface elements just flip over the burner box. Lay the top on a towel to protect it and the surface you are laying it on. Do the same with new glass top. Unscrew the burner box from all sides. Remove the burner box from the glass top. Remove the retainer bar by applying pressure to the extremity and pulling the anchorage away from the retainer bar in order to free the surface element. You do not have to disconnect wiring from elements to replace the glass top. Reinstall in reverse.
How do you remove the slide from this electric range?
Gerald for Model Number FFEF3048LSC
Answer Hello Gerald. Which slide are you referring to? Thank you.
Is it easy to replace the glass cooktop part? Or does this definitely require a repairman.
Karina for Model Number cples399ec7
Answer Hello Karina. These are not easy to do, but can be done. You will need to uninstall the slide in range and disconnect the power. Then remove the control panel knobs, and the plastic nuts under the knob on the range. Next lift the control panel off the range and unplug the wire connectors going to the control panel. Now you will need to remove the screws around the glass cook top holding it in place on the range. Once all screws are removed, you will need to lift the cooktop off of the range and unplug the wire connectors going to the elements. Lay the cooktop upside down on a soft surface and place the new cooktop upside down beside it on a soft surface to prevent damage. Remove the elements from the old cooktop and install them onto the new cooktop. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
