we are trying to figure out why the dispenser does not work. micro switches are testing good, but what does this part do?

Answer Kathie, The heat motor won't be the issue, not yet, it contols the ice chute dispenser door. As I understand it, the complete dispenser is inoperative. Check and make sure there are no loose connections or wires at the dispenser wire harness at the freezer door hinge assembly. If all the micro switches check OK, you've lost power into the dispenser, you may want to start at the freezer door light/safety switch, or the dispenser lock out switch. Thanks and Good Luck
