1ST why is my electric dryer listed as a gas one? control panel has been replaced, the front buttons where u select cycle has been replaced, all electrical has been checked-breaker box- plug- my dryer will not heat at all and it shows that heating element id working . when I do installation cycle it says dryer ok clean filter --my filter is clean and exhaust hose has been off and it is clean could it be the element even though it shows with tester that it is ok.
You will want to access the heater assembly and with the unit unplugged, disconnect one wire from the heater terminal. You will then plug the unit back up and turn onto a heated dry cycle. Test terminal that was disconnected for 120 vac. If there is no power and is on the side where the thermostat is, that would lead back to the control board and would need to test all points to the board. If it is the other side loosing power then the motor switch is bad and would need a new motor.
Just wondering how to replace our new cyclinder heating element in our electrux dryer? Is it easy to replace the heating element? Is it located in back of hte dryer? Thanks
Answer Hi. Remover the top back 3- screws. Slide the top back and up. Open the door and see if there is a hidden screw to remove under the control panel just above the door. If so then remove it (on some models). Carefully remove all control panel back mount screws and lay the control panel up and out of the way. Remove the front panel top screws. Lift the front panel up and off the frame front clips and move the panel slightly to the right. The element is on the left, on top of the frame. Mark down all element wire connections. Remove the element front cover and rear can mount screw. Pull the old element out and replace it. Heating element is part # 134792700. Clean the entire vent system and the hood/flap outside or the new one will overheat and open again. Thank You.
This model number is saying gas dryer. I have electric dryer. I need a heating element.
Answer Hello Alan,
This is a typo someone has made. It says it's a gas but has a Heater, 3 element, 5500w, 134792700 listed which cannot exist in a gas model.
