Water is not heating up. Checked heater. It has 11.6 ohms resistance. I assume its ok. What else am I looking for as far as the heater not working?
Answer Hello Mark. There is 4 things to check here: 1. Heater element (open).
2. Electronic control board defective.
3. Wiring or terminal defective.
4. Hi-Limit thermostat defective. Either one of these can cause the unit not to heat properly.
How do I test the heating eliment and where is it located?
Answer Hello Donald,
The heater 154503701 on this model is in-line. This means that the heater has s hose connected to each end. It can be found behind the kickpanel and is tested with an ohm meter, (resistance meter). It should read 12 ohms of resistance, give or take 10%.
