There are two lines on the evaporator. One in the front and on in the back. The line in back has a copper tube coming out of it. The line in front seems to have a copper wire coming out of the end. This is where I have the thermostat clipped to. Is this the suction line or is the line with the copper tubing the correct one? The fridge has been running for two days with seemingly no problems.

Answer Hello Carl. The thermostat need to clip on the larger of the two lines on the top of the evaporator. Hope this helps.

I need to know the proper placement of the defrost thermostat on the evaporator coil. Also what does housing-control pt no. ap3890631 control? Serviceman wanted to change it along with the defrost thermostat. This is a frigidaire refridgerator.

Answer Hi Carl. The proper placement for the defrost thermostat part # 5303918214 is within the first 1" of the suction line (larger one) from the inside of the cabinet area. Make sure it is firmly clipped correctly so it will properly sense the temps. Thank you.
