Hi ! My Icemaker is producing good ice. However recently the auger started to make a rough noise and I found out that there is an ice block at the bottom of the bin. Cleaned it up and reinstalled. A day latter found again an ice block statting to form underneath the auger
Seems like the Ice tray is dripping water, found a couple of frozen drops at the front of the Icemaker unit.
Any recommendations or adjustment for the unit. Or it's a R&R situation?
Answer Ed, there are a couple of things to check and adjust. First make sure the ice maker itself is level inside the freezer compartment and adjust as necessary. The second check, remove the front cover from the ice maker, you should see a small Phillips head screw in the upper right hand portion of the assembly. turn the screw 1/2 to 1 revolution with a screwdriver. this will reduce the amount of water during the fill cycle. If the problem persists, you'll need to replace the fill valves 218859701 and 218832401 on the back of the refrigerator ,
Could you please give me information on how to reset the spring inside the front cover? My ice maker works off and on and I think the little spring inside is the problem. Thanks
Answer Hello Alan,
Insert the bail arm into the opening on the icemaker head and put the spring on with the long end toward you. You will see where the spring hooks inside the icemaker head. You will turn the rod about 1/4 turn and slip it into the head assembly so tension is on the bail arm in the upward direction. The metal plate with the plastic wheel on it has to be installed with the end of the rod in the hole corresponding with the bail arm rid and insert the 3 screws that mount it.
