HOW TO INSTALL IGNITOR 316489401
Daniels
Answer Daniels, Apparently you have a Frigidaire gas range, you forgot to attach a model number to your post. So here are the basics : To remove oven door: 1. The oven door is held to the oven door hinges by two screws. (One in each hinge.) 2. To remove the oven door remove the two screws. 3. Close the door to the broil stop position and lift up. Removing oven bottom: 1. Remove the two screws holding rear of the oven bottom to liner tabs and lift the rear of the bottom up and slide it back. Removing bake burner baffle: 1. Using a 3/8” socket remove the nut holding the baffle to the burner. 2. Remove the two screws holding the baffle to the front frame. Removing oven burner igniter:
1. Disconnect electrical power from range. 2. Remove oven bottom and burner baffle. 3. Remove the two screws holding the igniter to the
burner. These are basic instructions, and may not be exact to your range, but you'll have a place to start.
Wow that was a fast response, Thanks!!! Sorry for re-asking the same question, but can I not use the Broil's igniter (not the whole Assembly, just the heating part) and use it to replace the Bake's heating element part?

Answer Hi Joe. Your model # uses a bake igniter part # 316489400 and the broil igniter part # 316489401. They both use the same voltage(120vac) and the current draw needed to open the safety valve. There are only a few dollars between the 2-different parts. The difference is that the broil igniter has a totally exposed element as the bake igniter element is not exposed. The way the parts ane mounted and positioned into the flame will not work momentarily placed into one anther's intended position. Thank You.
