On my touchpad, the Start/Cancel control is unresponsive. Do I need a new touchpad?

This sounds like either a bad connection or the touch pad you mentioned. First thing you should try is to open the door assembly and unplug the ribbon cable that attaches the touch pad to the control board. Using a pencil eraser and only rubbing in the direction of the traces, use the eraser as you would erase, to clean the traces. If upon re-assembly, the unit still doesn't work, replace the touch pad 154568603.
