We have had this washer about 7 years now, and it's worked great. We just recently started having trouble with the softener not dispensing at all. Sometimes it does but most of the time it doesn't. It's been cleaned and we've run hot water through the whole thing to flush out any other debris in there, but it still only works about 20% of the time. My husband usually fixes whatever is wrong, but he told me to find the part. Now I'm finding many parts to the dispenser. Hoping you could give us an idea of what part might cause the problem. Waiting to order until I hear a response. Thanks in advance.

Our washer is a front loader, part of a stackable. It is in our vacation home so even though we bought it two years ago, it has been seldom used. Last time I went to use it I added an item after the cycle had started. Per the instructions, I waited for the lock light to go off, then opened the door, put in the item, closed the door and pressed start. The machine won't go out of pause mode. We believe the latch mechanism is not working and therefore the machine won't lock and therefore won't drain and spin. We called a local repair guy and he said he changes the latches on those machines all the time! In your opinion is this the part I need (AP3851385)? And if these things malfunction all the time, why isn't your company contacting the consumer and offering to replace them, as in a recall? I believe I've only used this washer 25 times and this is very frustrating. Please reply. Thanks!
