Microwave door is closing, but light stays on and the oven is not working. Can you tell me what the problem is?
Answer Hello Erica. It sounds like you have a bad door switch. There is a total of 3 door switches on this model. There are 2 5304440026 and 1 5303319559. You need to test the switches and see which one is bad. NC to COM should read closed and NO to COM should read open. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
I recently purchased the door latch for my Frigidaire Gallery Microwave from your company. I received the part but it contained no directions on dissaembaling the door so that I can replace the defective part. Can you please send me some instructions?
Answer Hello Glen,
The door frame needs to come off first. This is kind of tricky as it is the most common part to be broken during disassembly. You see, it clips on on its' inside and outside edges and you must work back and forth with a small screwdriver or similar tool. Be aware it's easy to chip the paint off so be careful. Once the door frame is off, it's pretty self-explanatory as to the rest of the disassembly and reassembly procedures. Of course there are Phillips head screws that hold the assembly in the door. The door frame doesn't need to be completely removed as you only need to access the one end. The hinge side of the door frame can remain on the door assembly.
