Latch does not engage inside unit. Appears plastic piece inside frame is broken. How can you access to replace ?
Answer Hello Peter. You have to remove the outer cover to access the latch hook inside the unit. Make sure you unplug the unit before working on it.
My unit quit working, If I hold the door up after it is closed the light comes on, and if I hold it just right it will work. Can you tell me what the problem could be?
Answer Hi Bud. Check and make sure it is not just the latch assembly 5304440314 or the latch hook 5304440289. If one of these are broke causing the door not to close properly, you will need to order that part. You will need to remove the Upper vent grill (3-screws). Then you will remove the plate that is directly above the keypad assy. Then you remove the single screw above the keypad assy. and lift up and out on the keypad control assy. This will allow you to let it lay fwd., or to continue to remove it all the way. Then as you open and close the door, you can look inside the "hole", to the left as you open and close the door. You need to carefully see if all 3/or 4 latch switch buttons are closing and opening. There are 2 - Phillips screws that you can adjust the latch body for positive reaction with the door. Then reverse reassembly. Thank You.
