This unit was mftrd. in Sept 2006 Please help. The reason for this is I have the front right element center part does not work and the front left element does not work at all.

Answer Bob, This should help you out. "How to access the control panel : • Remove the screw on each side.• Remove the two screws under
the console.• Pull down the console.• Remove the screw on both side of the console.• To be able to flip over the control panel, remove the screws on both brackets located under the control panel, at the front.•The control panel can now be flipped to allow reach of the
electronic components. How to reach the cooktop • Remove the control panel.• Remove the four screws on the front on the burner box (two on both side).• Pull up on the entire burner box and in order reach the surface elements, just flip over the burner box. • Unscrew the burner box screws from all sides.• Remove the burner box from the glass top.• Remove the retainer bar by applying pressure to the extremity and pulling the anchorage away from the retainer bar in order to free the surface element.• Follow these steps backward in order to re-assemble the cooktop and the control panel." Good Luck and Thanks
Hello I had the same problem as jarod. I followed his given instructions but unfortunately I couldn't find "The screw on both sides of the console." I did however remove the 4 screws on each of the brackets underneath the control panel. Then I tried flipping it and cracked the top of the control panel. It seems there are internal screws holding in together? Now I am at a loss on the DIY. I am about ready to throw in the towel and call a serviceman.

Answer Hi Smith. Sorry about the crack in the control panel. There are hidden screws all around the sides of the main top assy. Usually more screws then needed are taken out. Are the control panel supports and console totally loose and removed? We know this is a challenging task even for a seasoned certified technician. It seems as if the screws are put in unusual places unknown. The main top is part # 318223614. Again once the top is loose then you use a black felt marker to mark the screw holes. Keep in mind that this wil allow the burner supports will be properly re centered upon reinstalling. Thank you.
How does the glass top come off so I can replace it with the new one?
Jarod for Model Number fes365eca
Answer Hello Jarod. Uninstall and disconnect the power to the unit. Pull down the door. Remove the screw on both side
of the console. To be able to flip over the
control panel, remove the screws
on both brackets located under
the control panel, at the front. The control panel can now be
flipped to allow reach of the
electronic components. Remove the four screws on the
front on the burner box (two on
both side). Pull up on the entire burner box
and in order reach the surface
elements, just flip over the
burner box. Unscrew the burner box from all
sides. Remove the burner box from the
glass top. Remove the retainer bar by
applying pressure to the extremity
and pulling the anchorage away
from the retainer bar in order to
free the surface element. Follow these steps backward in order to re-assemble the cooktop 318223614
and the control panel. Hope this helps.
