Answer Hi Maureen. The vent cover will unfold from the underside and put in through the top. There are underside rubber post that fit between the top of the range body and the gap on the side. Be sure to reuse the original ones. The prop support rod part # 316066900 is bolted onto the underside rt.front and will need to be replaced as well. Thank You.

Answer Betty, It's not likely a product issue, at this point. There are several possibilities, and the more common issues are use of oversized pots and pans, and high heat settings causing the top to absorb all the heat and cause the porcelain to graze and "pop" or fall off, Overfilled and oversized soup or stew pots weigh a lot once full. Replacing the cook top would be a better option than replacing the range, approximately $65 to $70.00 plus tax if applicable. Thanks and Good Luck
