I purchased a new motor from your online parts list for my dishwasher. I received the motor and find out the shaft is 1/4" shorter than my old one and I can't get a good fit for my impeller when I assemble my unit together. If I leave off the splash shield, I can get the unit to assemble back together. But the splash shield prevents water from dripping down into the motor. and I don't see leaving it off or modifying the motor housing to get this to work correctly. Have you had this come up before? Customer service says the original motor is no longer available, and he was not sure what my options were except to ask here on Q & A. HELP!!!!

Had a plastic baggie get caught in the top pump impeller during the last cycle. Dishwasher did not drain. I have removed all the plastic baggie I can find. Now the unit will run partial cycles (i.e. drain/fill/wash) but when it needs to drain again the timer is ticking but the motor will not run. Motor seems to get hot - really never ran it with bottom kick plate off of refrigerator pulled away to be sure the "hot" is unusual or not. Suspect I may have a restriction internal to the pump/drain I haven't found yet? Is motor thermally protected? Is there a wiring diagram available?
