Why do manufactures make you buy parts that are attached to other parts when only one part is bad and not the other. I have a dishwasher that needs the impeller that is attached to the motor. My motor runs perfectly but the pressed on impeller is bad. How do I go about getting the impeller w/o buying the motor.

Machine doesn't drain any water. However, it never overflows out the door when you open it.

Is just the cooling fan for the pump motor available? I don't want to pay hundreds for a new motor just because the press on fan is broken. The motor part number is 154384301 or 5304459468

Latest Questions

My 18" Kenmore dishwasher recently started making a loud buzzing noise. It ran it's last load fine and drained completely. I am now afraid to run it through to see if water will still drain. From what I have read it is likely the motor bearing/motor or debris in the grinder...does it require complete motor replacement if it is the bearing? Thanks so much!

I've been having some issues with this particular dishwasher. I'm not sure if I need the motor replaced or not. When I turn the dial for washing either a heavy or a light load the you can hear the the water filling up and then the motor seems to start and then it stops. I wait about 3 minutes or 4 and then the motor starts and stops again. If I turn the dial to light rinse to see if the water will some how drain out it does the same. It fills of course with more water and the motor starts and stops. I checked the electrical cables but everything seems to be connected unless I'm missing something. The hose seems clear. I took the spray arm and the diffuser off I can't see anything clogging it. I'm not sure if I need to take the housing pump cover off to see if there's something in there. What's funny is that two days ago the dishwasher wasn't working and there was a small leak where the copper tube connects to the bottom of the float. I fixed the leak and suddenly the dishwasher was working great. The following day the motor started to act up.Then I thought if I kick it lightly it might help ...it didn't. So I figured maybe its the motor, a switch or there's a fuse that blew out. If you can help that would be awesome I just want to figure out the mystery, thanks for your time !

Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful

My grandmother has a small dishwasher that stopped pumping out the water not long after she bought it, but since it was small she decided not to get it fixed. I was wondering since the dishwasher still runs and washes fine the only thing is that it will not pump the water out it leaves it standing in the bottom. Also how hard would that be to replace if you have never worked on one before.
