I need information on connecting wiring or a wiring diagram
For the auger motor there are only 2 terminals on the motor and either wire can connect to either side.
How to install?
Answer Rose Ann,
To install the auger motor, you will first want to unplug the unit from the wall. Pull out the ice bin, with ice bin out there will be 2 screws (1/4" hex head) at the bottom of the auger housing. Remove the screws and lift the housing out. Disconnect the wire harness at the back wall for the housing and pull the housing out of the freezer. Take the coupler off the shaft of the auger and remove the screws holding the auger in place. Pull auger motor out and disconnect the wires. Reconnect the wires for the new auger motor and reinstall in reverse.
I am wondering if I have to replace the auger motor. When I press the ice button I hear a click and then humming. To troubleshoot, I removed the ice holder and held the door switch in to override the safety switch. I then pressed the ice button on the outside of the door and the auger did not move, it just hums. Also, about two weeks ago we were unable to switch from cubed to crushed ice if you can help with this.
Answer Hi Gene. You are on the correct track. A sign of humming as you hold in the door sw. and the Fountain controls are working. Just test all buttons to make sure the Fountain Control Board # 241708303 and the Fountain Power -Board - # 241708201 works. Make sure all connections are tight. The Auger Motor is part # 241676201. The needed motor cover is part # 241675502. It will prevent future motor premature failures. The auger motor drive bar is part # 241726501. You need this part upgrade as well. Next to the auger motor is a crush/cube solenoid part # 241675701. When you press for each command the sol. plunger should go up and down forcefully. If not then replace it also. Make sure every month the ice bin is removed and flushed out completely especially the crusher blades. The ice shard's naturally collect below the auger and freeze the complete works ,breaking all in the ice bin. Completely dry it before resetting into the auger motor drive bar. Thank You.
