Answer Hello Ed, It sounds like there is more than 1 issue. Since you are getting the whining noise when filling it sounds like the water valve is causing this noise. The leaking issue would more than likely need to have the pump and motor assembly replaced. The pump can cause a whing noise if the bearings are going out but should not happen when filling as the pump is not on during fill.

Answer Hello Ian, The first thing that you would want to do is check to make sure that your pump motor is getting 120 vac. If getting power but not operating then you would need the pump. Also check the drain motor. Also make sure that there is nothing clogging the pump preventing it from draining out.

Answer Hello Kenneth. If you disassembled the sump assembly and found nothing inside the motor impeller, then you will need to replace the motor 154844101 on the unit. Make sure nothing is in the pump 154736201 as well on the unit.

Answer Hi. The spring clip is curved on each side to hold fwd pressure on the motor to the sump housing. There are 2 -large o-rings for the motor assy. The rear (inner) one is part # 154246901. The front (outer) o-ring towards the motor impeller is part # 154247001. Inspect to see if any corrugated hoses do not have a pin hole in them. Use rinse aid on them lightly to install them. Answer Irma, The noise and no drain could be due to a damaged or restricted drain pump 154736201 and not the wash pump motor 154844101. If the noise is present during the wash cycle, then remove the filters and lower spray arm, and check for debris in the sump assembly and damaged vanes on the wash motor impeller. If the noise is present in the drain cycle, remove and check the impeller and area of the drain pump for debris and damaged vanes, etc.

Answer Hello Jeff, this motor 154844101 should be the part you need. Just install it in reverse order from the way you took the old one out. Hope this helps!
