Dishwasher will not fill with water. If set to run a cycle, it will act as though it is going to fill, then it will begin to run through all of the cycles, except there is no water. I found a technical trouble shooting manual that states to replace the wash motor (with hall sensor) and if that doesn't work, replace the main control board. Do these 2 items seem to be the likely cause of the no fill? If so, should I replace just the motor, or should I order both the motor and main control board? Thank you.
Answer Hello Don,
The most obvious cause would be either the water got turned off to the unit, (happens often if other work has been performed under the sink), or the water valve 154513601 has failed. Also, there is a flood switch located under the front of the unit. The float is just under the front left of the bottom rack. If an item drops through the rack and gets under this float, it will turn the power off to the water inlet valve.
I have a frigdare dishwasher and the water will not drain, could it be the pump or the control.
You will first want to check the drain line to make sure that it is not obstructed. If that checks ok then you will want to test at the control board for power to the pump when the unit calls for draining. If there is no power then the control is faulty and if there is power then you want to check at the pump to make sure the power is getting to it. If there is no power at the pump then you will need to check your wire harness for broken wires. If there is power then replace the pump.
