We ordered part #316071504 (oven bake element). The original element & the picture of the part ordered show the connectors (spades?) completely straightened out. However, the part we received has the connectors bent at a 90 degree angle. Can we straighten the connectors out or should we return the part for a replacement?
Answer A Giaccio, If at all possible, use the replacement element "as is" the additional 1/4 inch clearance between the element "spades" and the rear panel of the range will be a safer situation(less possibility of a short) There should be enough "slack" in the wires to compensate for the change in the angle of the connector. Only straighten the "spades" as a last resort.
I'm looking to purchase this part but just would like to know if part #r344513586 an OEM part?
Answer Hello Antoine,
That part number doesn't come up as a valid part number. If this is a number you found on the part, it is probably a number used by a company building parts for the manufacturer, (vendor number). If this is so, it is only useful for that vending company and is not even a traceable number by the manufacturer.
