The gasket does not seal off the entire door. Is it wise to add additional seal to the space where it is not sealed? I find it is very hot near the bottom drawer almost too much to touch.

Answer Hello Geoff. They do not advise adding seal to the door. The seal is designed to cover all the door, but the bottom center. Check the oven vent and make sure it is not clogged. Hope this helps.
