My oven stay on all the time We have to disconnect the power to shut off.
Answer Hello Jose. If the oven does not stop on off, make sure the knob is not broken first. If it is good, then you will need to order and replace the thermostat 316032411 in the unit.
I recently replaced my thermostat (AP4358457) but it's very hard to engage. I push the knob in then turn counterclockwise and the knob turns but the metal post doesn't turn, I think my knob is stripped as a result of trying. I can barely turn it with my bare hands. Why does it take so much force? Does it need grease?
Answer Hello Scott,
Grease does not generally get along with electrical components so that would not be a good option. If the shaft is not contacting the panel and the shaft is hard to turn, it is an indication of a bad part. I would replace the thermostat 316032411 and the knob 316109506. This should take care of both the issue of the knob being stripped and the thermostat being hard to turn. If the thermostat was purchased from us, you can call in for a return authorization if it was purchased within the past 365 days and we will re-ship the part for you under our warranty.
