I purchased an overlay because mine had begun to peel. How clean do I need to get the panel before applying the new overlay? Do I need to remove all the excess glue from the old overlay? If so, How?

Answer Hello Patrick. No, just unpell the old one and remove all you can with a razor blade. Once removed, just stick the new overlay onto the unit.

The stove and oven work fine. But the read out on the control panel is not working right. It doens't show any real numbers/digits, just a bunch of random lines. No clock or temperature when the oven is on. What part(s) do I need.

Answer Hello Chris, Disconnect the power for two minutes. If the fault code returns after power-up, replace the control 316418701. On this model, the touchpad and the control are one unit. The overlay is merely the part with the button descriptions on it.

Hi the right side buttons in my control panel don't work. The 3, 6, 9, and start button. I've been using the bottom portion that warms for now. Do I need to replace the overlay only or the control box? Does the overlay piece glue on or does it go screwed on? also my model number has an "ss" at the end. Answer Hello Frank. You will need to replace the clock 316418704 and overlay 316419700 as an assembly to repair the unit. The overlay sticks onto the clock assembly. Hope this helps.

My touchpad or overlay appears to have melted. Have you heard of this before and do I only need to replace the overlay or the entire thing?

Answer Amy, Yes, melted overlays do occur. Usually it's due to excessive heat from the rear burner because of an oversized pot or pan,or extensive cook times. Occasionally during a self clean cycle, if the oven is extremely dirty. You will be able to replace the overlay only, as long as the display from the clock is satisfactory to you.
