My dishwasher wouldn't turn on the other day when I hit the start button. I figured it was the fill valve, but that has since bench tested to be just fine. I have 120VAC on one side of the fill valve connector when the unit is off. The other side of the connector is at 0VAC. When I hit the start button, I have 120VAC on both sides (referenced to the frame of the dishwasher), but the fill valve won't open. My question is which is more likely - a bad wire that has enough connectivity to give me a voltage reading but opens when current tries to pass or a bad control board?

Answer Todd, If you are getting 120 vac to the water valve when the unit is calling for water and no water is coming through then you need to replace the water valve.

What is the input voltage supposed to be to the control board?

If I know how to get the door casing off of the dishwasher, is this something I could install myself with a screwdriver, or do I need a service technician? They cannot get out here in time for my company this weekend, and I need a dishwasher! Thanks!

Answer Hello Leslie. Yes, the board assembly 5304475600 is not hard to replace after the door is disassembled. Just remove the wires going to the old board and remove the old board from the unit. Install the wire on the new board and reassemble the unit. Make sure the power is off before doing the repair. Hope this helps.
