Answer Andy, The only way to get this hinge pin out is by using a pair of needle nose pliers and push one side out enough to grab on the other side. Once there is a little out then you would pull out just enough to get the chute in place.

Answer Donald, To remove the pin you have to push it out far enough to get a pair of needle nose pliers on it to pull out. Once out far enough you should be able to pull the old ice door assembly off and install the new one. The way that the unit is designed you do not have to line up the gears. Once the door is on it will automatically line up with the timer gear.
