Answer Hello, If the rear bearing goes out, then the spinner shaft can be damaged from it. You can inspect this part when you disassemble the machine. If you see alot of wear, you will need to replace the spinner assembly.131618500 Hope this helps.

I have ordered the shell which includes the bearing. When re-assembling, is there any other item that would be good to replace while I have everything ripped apart?

How do you remove the drum (shaft) from the old shell? I have removed the pulley, but cannot pull the old shell away from the shaft.

Answer Hello Al. If you have the front shell removed, then the inner basket should slide out of the outer shell. If it is rusted to the bearing, you may have to use a rubber mallet to tap it out. Hope this helps.

Today when we washed a heavy load of towels, suddenly we heard a loud snap noise and then the washer made continuous loud noises during high speed spin. I've run it empty, and taken it all apart. No broken shocks or weights loose, nothing at all visibly wrong. Running with the top off I can see it start the spin cycle normally, as it speeds up there is a little rattle, then quiet until it turns to high speed. Then I see the drum start to wobble (kind of angular not side to side but a mix and twisting sort of) and the loud noise starts. I've replace the shocks and they look to be in good order. Any ideas? Could the bearing cause wobbling and racket but just under high speed?

Answer Bryan, Based on the description it sounds like either the outer bearings are bad causing the unit to spin basket to wobble around or the spin basket support weld broke.

Hi I need to replace the bearing in the rear of the rear outer tub assembly part # 13152500.I have the tub disassembled and can not get the inner stainless tub shaft assembly to release form the outer plastic shell bearings. I have put WD 40 on the shaft and tried to tap out with 2x4 and hammer it don't seem to budge, and it won't just slide out. Part don't look rusty. Would like to purchase part the part but don't need it if I can't get shaft out of the rear plastic outer shell, also should check the shaft for inner tub. thanks David

Answer David, Here's some help " Remove the large pulley, drive motor and speed control board assembly. Disconnect the bearing ground wire. Remove the top pins from shock absorbers and push the shock absorbers against the cabinet. Place something down to protect the floor. Remove the tub assembly from the cabinet,Turn the tub over and remove the (23) screws holding the two halves of the tub together. Lift the front half of the tub off the assembly. CAUTION: Use caution in handling the spin basket. The outer surface is very sharp! The seal between the (2) tub halves is placed in the groove of the rear half and can be lifted out. To remove the spin basket, set the back half of the outer tub on it’s side, and reinstall the screw that secured the large pulley to the shaft. Tap the inner tub out with a rubber hammer. Note: The bearings, water seal and gasket between the two tubs come as part of the rear half of the outer tub. If the water seal or bearings fail, inspect and if necessary, dress shaft of the spin basket with a file. With some failures it will be necessary to replace the spin basket."
