How can the rectifier and magnetron be tested? The unit made a loud pop, now it won't heat.
Answer Brent, Basically your best bet is to have an analog test meter, that operates on 12 Volts DC.TJMA-12816A or has a diode test circuit. The diode/rectifier should have a "closed" circuit in one direction only. If there's no circuit at all or a circuit in both directions, the diode needs to be replaced. To test the magnetron, there should be less than 1 ohm resistance when the test leads are placed across the two terminals, and an "open" circuit from each terminal to the magnetron body casing. All wires should be disconnected when testing these components.
