I am replacing the starter relay in my (older) Frigidaire refrigerator and I think I got the two color wires mixed up but I'm not sure. I can't locate a video on changing this part for the model refrigerator. Please help!
Answer Hello Keri,
You will need to determine which wire has the voltage on it when the unit is powered up. This wire connects to the overload, (small white component). The other wire is the neutral which should connect to terminal number 3 on the relay.
Compressor makes a buzzing noise if I jiggle wires by compressor or tap compressor it will run and cool.
Answer Hello Jesse. Look for loose connections. If none are found, replace the relay overload. If the issue continues, then the compressor will need to be replaced.
Motor (compressor) will not come on. Audible click can be heard, but motor will not start. Tried torning thermostat on and off. Tried unpluginging power cord and plugung it back in. Both failed to produce a response from the motor. Please advise.
Answer Hello Gordon,
You will want to pull unit out and check the start relay on the compressor. When you pull relay off shake it and if it rattles then you need a new relay. If no rattle then reinstall and do amp draw on the compressor. If above 8.5 amps then you would need to replace compressor.
